The beach = land might be private but all water is public in my opinion i would love to see the game warden charge somebody for fishing open water on private land or not that would be good to see in court

It's a private beach with public access for $10 ($8 for seniors) at the gate. With smelt in the area, there may be Stripers lurking near by...

I think those old school fiberglass extension poles were much more forgiving. They made some really strong ones in the old days.
